Kensington Compost Network provides places for residents to compost organic food & garden scraps to support our local gardening and food growing. Derby Street Food Forest Compost is open 24/7, behind the food forest, between 56 and 70 Derby Street. Please:
1) add your compostables scraps to Bay 1 (right hand side)
2) cover with sawdust from the yellow bins
3) make sure the compost bay lid is closed when you leave

- Fruit and veggies (chopped)
- Tea leaves or paper tea bags
- Dried plants or leaves
- Eggshells (crushed)
- Plain paper and cardboard (ripped up)
- Coffee Grounds
What’s not
- Meat, fish, or dairy products
- Cooking oils or fats
- Compostable or biodegradable plastics
- Dog cat or other animal poo
- Glossy or coloured paper, foil or lids
- Treated or sealed timber
