About
Compost open to general community, not just church members. Garden is near the parking lot, on the east side of the property. Compost drop off is on the easternmost part of the property, next to the large shed.
This is a two-tiered hot composter system. Signage will show which bin is resting and which is actively accepting compost. There is a large area on the left side of the compost system for bulk yard waste drop off.
What’s accepted
- Kitchen Waste — fruit, grain, vegetable, etc.
- Rabbit and Chicken waste (<10gal per week, per person)
- Tea leaves, coffee grounds
- Yard waste that is free from pesticides and other contaminants.
- Pizza boxes, compostable paperware. (Must be shredded into <1in pieces)
What’s not
- Bones, meat, salty broth/meat, oils.
- Wood, branches, sticks, twigs.
- Any "Compostable" bags (They lie)
- Cardboard (recycle this instead)
- Plastic
