Kensington Compost Network provides places for residents to compost organic food & garden scraps and to support our local growing community. McCracken Street Church Compost is open 24/7, behind Christ Church Kensington, or access (via stairs) from Epsom Road next to the Harvest Yoga sign.

Please:

1) add your compostable scraps to Bay 1 (right hand side)

2) cover with sawdust from the yellow bins

3) make sure the compost bay lid is closed when you leave

What’s accepted

  1. Fruit and veggies (chopped)
  2. Tea leaves or paper tea bags
  3. Houseplants, dried flowers or leaves
  4. Eggshells (crushed)
  5. Plain paper and cardboard (ripped up)
  6. Coffee Grounds

What’s not

  1. Meat, fish, or dairy products
  2. Cooking oils or fats
  3. Plastic, including compostable or biodegradable plastics
  4. Dog or cat poo
  5. Glossy or coloured paper, foil or container lids
  6. Treated or sealed timber products
